Our story
It started with a calling and a living room.
2006
Sent out from Armitage Baptist Church, Pastor Jamie and Andrea planted Reborn as a daughter church in Garfield Park. No building, no money, no crowd. Just a calling.
2007
Sunday services started in their living room. A handful of people, a few Bibles, and a church that grew one life at a time.
2008
They outgrew the living room and moved Sunday services into a neighborhood school.
2010
They rented two storefronts for outreach and discipleship through the week.
2012
Reborn became an independent local church.
The firehouse
They'd been praying over an old firehouse on the block. They moved in with barely enough to cover rent, started renovating with whatever they had, and trusted God for the rest.
Churches and tradesmen gave more than $100,000 in labor and materials over the years.

2015
With the help of Brentwood Baptist Church and the North American Mission Board, Reborn bought the firehouse for $250,000, with $100,000 left over for renovations. No debt.
Today
Reborn still gathers in that firehouse, a full room every Sunday, for every age. Discipleship groups through the week, one-on-one mentoring, and men's and women's ministry all year long.
And the work reaches past the walls. Alongside the church, its ministry partner Reborn Ministries pours into Garfield Park with food and resources, a trade school, and programs for the neighborhood's kids and families. Still serving, still growing, still one life at a time.
Come be part of it
The best way to know a church is to walk in. There's a seat saved for you.
